Two area 5K road races are set for Thanksgiving morning
It’s almost Thanksgiving for all Saratoga Millennials and if you’re looking for things to do in Saratoga County, look no further!

For all running enthusiasts, racers, and walkers, there are two great 5K road races taking place in
Clifton Park and Saratoga Springs on Thanksgiving Day.

Clifton Park holds its first annual "St. George’s Turkey Trot 5K" Thursday morning, as area runners and residents celebrate the holiday, while also supporting the “St. George Scholarship.”

Sheray Tario is the Head Teacher at St. George’s Elementary School and one of the coordinators of the 5K, and believes that the road race is an “excellent” way to get the community more involved with its neighbors and children.

“We are very excited to have this event go on,” said Tario.

“The scholarship is a great way to help more children get involved with St. George’s, who otherwise may not be able to afford to go.”

What’s so unique about this particular scholarship is the fact that it only supports children of community workers and emergency responders like teachers, firefighters, and nurses.

“The best way to support the community is to support its children,” said Acting Head of K-2nd grade Phyllis Aldrich.

The race goes off at 8:00 a.m. at St. Georges School and Episcopal Church on Route 146 in Clifton Park, and participation costs $22 in advance and $25 on the day of the race.
